We are a mobile operation, so treat this page with appropriate scepticism. It still tries to give you the honest version, including the conditions where mobile is the wrong call.
What mobile actually means
We come to your driveway, your workplace car park, a farm, or a job site anywhere in Greeley and most of Weld County, and do the whole job there including calibration. There is no extra charge for it and no reason for there to be.
The main thing it buys you is not saving a drive. It is not losing half a day. Most people book us at work, we fit the glass while they are inside, and the car is ready before they leave.
Where mobile genuinely wins
- Anything on a farm or a job site. A combine during harvest or a truck mid rotation cannot go and sit in a workshop.
- Fleets. We fit at the yard, and the vehicle stays in service.
- Cracks too long to drive on safely. Moving a car with a badly cracked windshield is the worst option available.
- Anywhere far from town. Kersey, Pierce, Platteville and the county roads are a long round trip to drop off and collect.
Where a shop is the better answer
Being straight about this matters more than winning the argument.
Hard freeze. Urethane has a minimum working temperature and it cures more slowly in the cold. We warm the bonding area and use a urethane rated for the conditions, but in a genuine deep freeze with nowhere sheltered to work, a controlled environment is better. We will say so rather than fit glass in conditions that compromise the bond.
Rain, snow or high wind. The bonding surface has to be clean and dry. Wind blows grit into a fresh bead. A garage, a carport or a covered yard solves it, and most driveways have somewhere workable, but not all.
Certain static calibrations. Some vehicles need a static calibration against a target board at a set distance on level ground with controlled lighting. A sloped driveway or a cramped car park will not do it. We can usually find suitable ground nearby, and when we cannot we say so upfront.
The question that actually matters
Not mobile versus shop. Whether the work is done properly either way.
A mobile technician who waits for the safe drive-away time and calibrates on site is doing a better job than a shop that rushes the cure and sends your car to a dealer for calibration next week. And the reverse is equally true.
Ask both the same questions: who is doing the work, is calibration included in this visit, which glass is going in, and what is the drive-away time.
Common Questions
Does mobile cost more than coming to a shop?
Not with us. Mobile is the standard service and there is no call-out fee anywhere in Greeley or most of Weld County.
Can you replace a windshield in my work car park?
Yes, and it is the most common way we work. We need reasonably level ground, room to open both front doors fully, and shelter from rain and strong wind.
What happens if the weather turns while you are here?
We stop before the bonding stage rather than after. If conditions will not allow a sound bond we reschedule, because a compromised bond is not something you can see afterwards.
Can you do the ADAS calibration at my house?
In most cases yes, on site in the same visit. A small number of vehicles need a static calibration with specific space and lighting, and we will tell you in advance if yours is one of them.
We offer both, and we will tell you which suits the day. Details on our Greeley auto glass page.
